I am excited to be running the Chicago Marathon in October AND I have teamed up with Second City Canine Rescue to raise funds for homeless dogs at the same time! As many of you may know, I lost my soul dog Furiosa to cancer in October. She was from a local rescue that got her off the street. I took her on road trips to Washington and to local breweries and runs with me. I miss her like crazy. I've decided to spend the money that would go to her on other rescue dogs and the SCCR, and hope others will join me. I will be running to save the dogs. SCCR is a no-kill, progressive dog rescue in the Chicago suburbs that saves dogs from Chicago’s city shelters as well as shelters as far away as Arkansas and Alabama. SCCR accepts all breeds and has a special love for senior dogs.   In memory of Furiosa, please help me give other dogs the life they deserve and the care they need by donating to my marathon fundraiser.
