For my 30th birthday, I'm celebrating by running the Chicago Marathon and raising funds for CASA of River Valley. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) trains volunteers to be a consistent voice for children in foster care, advocating for their best interests, and helping ensure each child has the support, stability, and resources they need throughout the court process.
I figured turning 30 was the perfect time to make questionable decisions like voluntarily running 26.2 miles, so this year, instead of birthday gifts, I'm asking for your help supporting an organization that's making a real difference in children's lives. Every donation, no matter the size, will help CASA continue its incredible work.
My knees may never forgive me, but knowing every mile helps support children who need someone in their corner will make it all worth it. Time to start training!
