A MESSAGE FROM Aaron, Evan, Sam, Josh and Jason's Fundraising Page
Please support Aaron, Evan, Sam, Josh and Jason as they run the 2022 New York Marathon on behalf of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Here's a few additional notes from Jason and the rest of the gang on why the Make-A-Wish Foundation is important to them:
From Jason:
Our team has an extra special connection with the Make-A-Wish Foundation since 2002, when I became a wish kid. I suffered from a life-threatening brain abnormality called an AVM that caused strokes, seizures and prohibited me from participating in any physical activity for over 6-years. Over that time, Make-A-Wish granted me a wish of my own - I got to take a limo to an arcade, play all the games I wanted, and keep a game for myself at the end of the day. More importantly, Make-A-Wish gave me something to look forward to and smile about during some very difficult times. Now, 20 years since I was first introduced to the foundation, I'm so proud to be helping kids facing similar medical challenges by providing them with their own wishes.
From Aaron, Evan, Sam, and Josh:
When Jason's AVM reared its ugly head back in 2002, it shook all of us to our core. It would never be easy to sit on the sidelines as your best friend and brother has his life turned upside down by an unforeseen medical complication, but when you experience all of these things and aren't even 10 years old yet, things can feel even more scary and hopeless. In a time of darkness and uncertainty, the Make-A-Wish Foundation provided a beacon of hope that shone so bright we didn't have a choice but to cheer up.
20 years after his original diagnosis, Jason couldn't be better - he's married, living in Atlanta, and is in about as good physical shape as you could expect out of a Northeast Jew. To be able to run alongside Jason knowing how far he's come in the last 2 decades will be the privilege of a lifetime. And to be able to do it as we support an organization so crucial in getting him (and us all) through such a pivotal and erratic time in his life? You couldn't ask for a better storybook ending.
Thank you so much for your contribution in advance - we can't tell you how much we appreciate it!
Aaron, Evan, Sam, Josh, and Jason
