A MESSAGE FROM Alex's Fundraising Page
I have been a veterinarian in NYC for the 10 years with the ultimate goal of running the NYC Marathon. I am not a long-distance runner, and just the idea of running a marathon hurts my body! For years though, I have sought to run this landmark event with a charity that not only impacts the lives of others, but that has also impacted my own life. I am honored to be running for the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center (AMC) .
I completed my veterinary emergency and critical care residency at the AMC in 2019, where I learned from some of the brightest minds and saved countless animals thanks largely to charity funds.
During my time at AMC, I witnessed and participated in the incredible work done by this institution. From complex surgeries and critical cases to groundbreaking treatments, the AMC has been at the forefront of veterinary medicine, providing top-notch care to animals in need.
The charity funds we received for patient care, which I personally accessed, played a pivotal role in enabling us to treat pets whose families couldn't afford the high cost of care. It was inspiring to see how much of a difference we could make in the lives of these animals and their owners.
As a dog owner (Gemma, photobombing fundraising page picture), the prospect of not being able to afford care for my pet is devastating, but it's a reality that so many people are faced with. Help me change that. Running the NYC Marathon is not just a personal challenge for me, but a way to give back to the community that has given me so much.
Please support my fundraising efforts for the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon. No donation is too small. Every contribution helps provide life-saving care to animals in need and supports the incredible work of the AMC.
Thank you for your generosity and for joining me in this journey!
