A MESSAGE FROM Running with Purpose: Black Girls Run Chicago 2026
Hi, I'm Dr. Alisha Brown. I’m proud to be running the 2026 Bank of America Chicago Marathon on behalf of Black Girls Run, an organization dedicated to empowering women through movement, health, and community. I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 2021, and running became a way for me to rebuild trust with my body and redefine what I believed was possible. What started as a single 5K in 2025 has grown into marathons — each mile a symbol of resilience, progress, and choosing myself again and again. As I train for Chicago, I’m raising $3,000 to support Black Girls Run and its mission to create inclusive, supportive spaces for women to move confidently and joyfully. My hope is that my journey encourages others — especially those living with chronic illness — to believe they are stronger, more capable, and more powerful than they think. Thank you for supporting my miles and this mission. No donation is too small. Please click on the donate button!
