Howdy friends! This year I am running the 2021 TCS NYC Marathon as a member of Team Innocence Project. (With a goal of a sub 4-hour time! *fingers crossed*)
As a member of Team IP, I am committing to raising at least $3,500 for the Innocence Project. The Innocence Project works to exonerate innocent people from prison, prevent wrongful convictions, and reform the criminal legal system through legal, legislative, and social work advocacy. Your donation to my fundraising campaign will not only contribute to my entry to run the marathon, but will also meaningfully help prevent future injustice.
The Innocence Project is the first legal organization in America to systematically apply DNA testing to prove innocence. To date, 375 people have been exonerated with DNA testing and the Innocence Project has provided direct representation and/or critical assistance in 231 cases. This organization has worked on hundreds of high profile cases, including the cases against Steven Avery, Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana, and Korey Wise.
