A MESSAGE FROM Angel’s Autism Advocacy Team
Hi everyone! It’s Angel Golphin here, 2021 Eagles Cheer Rookie! I’m so excited to share this journey of becoming an Eagles Cheerleader with you all. I can't thank you enough for your support, stories, words of encouragement, and engagement throughout this journey.
As many of you know, the Eagles Cheerleaders are very passionate about autism research. This year, I will join the entire Eagles organization and thousands of others from the community in participating in the Eagles Autism Challenge!
What is the Eagles Autism Challenge?
The Eagles Autism Challenge is a one-day bike ride and family-friendly 5K Run/Walk that begins and ends at Lincoln Financial Field. For families and participants with sensory challenges, a Sensory Walk is offered to provide a shorter course around the outside perimeter of Lincoln Financial Field. And for those who want to fundraise but are unable to ride, run, or walk on event day, there is a virtual option. All participants are welcomed back to Lincoln Financial Field for an on-field celebration, family-friendly field activities, and an awards ceremony featuring special guests. Participants receive a cycling jersey or 5K t-shirt, finish line medal, and a complimentary gift bag. Exclusive experience prizes and autographed memorabilia will be offered to participants who reach certain fundraising milestones.
What does this mean to me as an Eagles Cheerleader?
Personally, this cause is very deer to my heart. Since a young age I've had an instinct to connect with kids on the autism spectrum. While I've always understood these children are unique, special, and also enjoy being social (just like me.) I'm fascinated by the talent and skills autistic children posses - from drawing to music and even dance!
I’m honored to have had the unique opportunity as a Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleader to teach dance and cheer routines to children on the autism spectrum at Cheer Tyme in Mechanicsburg, PA (see the picture on fundraising page banner and link to the article at Philadelphia Eagles.) It was so inspiring to see the kids ooze with the joy of dance and our shared passion for football and the Philadelphia Eagles!
How does my donation make a difference?
Your small $5, $10, or $20 donation will help the Eagles Cheerleaders with our goal of advancing scientific breakthroughs for children and adults affected by Autism everyday!
100% of raised funds will go directly to the Eagles Autism Foundation, as together we take action for autism, not only in Philadelphia, but around the world. I hope you will consider making a small donation towards my fundraising goal to help make a big difference in the autism community.
