A MESSAGE FROM Ariana Running 26.2 for Sexual Assault Survivors and Awareness
Hi! My name is Ariana and I love to run. Some of the last words I told my Grandaddy — a 16x marathoner — were “I’m going to run a marathon.”
So, I am running a marathon (26.2 miles) in Newport, RI on April 18, 2026 to honor him and to support Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). SAAM is incredibly meaningful to me and has a very special place in my heart because I am a SURVIVOR. While, I have not been open about my (multiple) experiences, I speak out not just for myself, but women and girls who: have been assaulted, those who are not able to speak up out of fear, shame, guilt, for those who have been silenced, for those who have been ridiculed, for those who are not believed, for those who feel alone and isolated, and those who have not realized it yet, for family, friends and those who know what it is like to be a survivor with a single “I understand.” I’ve ran the race and journey of standing up for myself, and now I run to empower myself but others, and to raise awareness.
Please support my fundraising efforts for NO MORE. By donating to my fundraiser, you will be helping NO MORE to raise awareness, inspire action and fuel culture change to end domestic and sexual violence.
Change arises from support and action. There is power in community — we can come together to stand up by supporting, empowering and BELIEVING victims or survivors.
In doing this, we also lift up survivors and guide them in gaining their power. Please join me and click on the donate button!
Thank you for taking time to read my story — that means more than you know!
