Please support my fundraising efforts for the 2022 Bank of America Chicago Marathon. No donation is too small. Please click on the donate button!
My friend Jess and I have been running for a year now and we decided to run the Chicago Marathon. This event is a lottery based system and we were selected!!
On December 9th we got the news and the planning immediately began! Being selected for this race has been a true honor but, we wanted to take it a step further and run for a cause as well!! After endless research and searching for various fundraisers and charities.. We realized Cal’s Angels really hit home for us.
The backstory:
My friend Danielle has a daughter, Addy, who is a 5 year old. Life decided to throw her a curve ball. Addy was born a healthy baby girl who then started having seizures at 6 months old. By 10 months, thanks to a hardworking neuro team we had answers. She was diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome. Addy has had countless seizures, medication failures, and then a VNS implant the week after she turned 1. Unfortunately the curves kept coming.. on May 19, 2020, in the midst of COVID, we took Addy to the ER. She was diagnosed with Very High Risk B Cell Leukemia.
Addy is a fighter and an inspiration. In her free time she can be found coloring, blowing bubbles, and playing outside with her little brother. Addy’s best friend in the world is Belle, her Service Dog in Training.
Addy and her family moved from Charlotte NC to Chicago, IL to be closer to her doctors.
With all this being said, I am running this Race for Addy. Thank you for taking the time to hear her story and please consider donating to this fundraiser for Cal’s Angels charity!! Go Addy Go
