A MESSAGE FROM Bailey's Chicago Marathon Fundraiser
I am absolutely thrilled to be running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon October 13th, 2024. I have teamed up with Second City Canine Rescue to run in support of raising funds for homeless dogs.
SCCR is a no-kill, progressive non-profit dog rescue in the Chicago suburbs that
saves dogs from Chicago’s city shelters as well as shelters as far away as Arkansas and Alabama. SCCR accepts all breeds and has a special love for senior dogs.
Anyone who knows me knows that I have a deep love for dogs and believe they all deserve a loving home. I've volunteered for dog rescues in both Vermont and New York throughout most of my life. I even volunteered as a "Cat Socializer" at the Humane Society before I was old enough to become a dog walker. I also have had the privilege of running the 2023 New York City Marathon (my first ever marathon) in support of the Beagle Freedom Project - Which we successfully raised over $3,000 for. I will also be running the Tokyo Marathon in March 2025 in support of Peace Wanco Japan, a Hiroshima-based nonprofit organization that rescues stray dogs.
I'm so excited to continue combining my new found love for running with my ever growing love for animals in the 2024 Chicago Marathon!
