Hi, friends!
I am so excited to be running the Chicago Marathon on October 10th as part of the Chicago Parks Foundation team. If you know me, you
know that visiting any of the City’s 600+ parks is one of my favorite pastimes.
Whether I’m picnicking in Wicker or running the Lakefront Trail, I love being
able to connect with nature in a city of 2.7 million people.
The Chicago Parks Foundation (CPF) is an independent, 501c3
nonprofit partner of the Chicago parks. They work to help park lovers
become givers and stewards by raising funds and awareness for park projects throughout
the City. The CPF coordinates community outreach and programming, park
restoration and enhancement projects, fiscal sponsorship for Park Advisory Councils
and more. Most importantly, they connect communities with the resources needed to bring ideas to action and provide Chicago residents a way to
interact with nature.
If you’d like more information on the Chicago Parks Foundation, check out their website here. I really appreciate your support, financial and otherwise, as I prepare for the marathon and raise money for an organization that is close to my heart. Training starts in June, check back in for updates!
Thank you,
Brooke
