A MESSAGE FROM Bryanna McQueeney's Fundraising Page
Back in the winter of 2018, I noticed more homeless and hungry people begging on the subway than usual. One frigid evening after work I was riding the subway home feeling helpless about the homeless. When I looked up, I saw a 'City Harvest' banner advertisement. I realized I CAN help by volunteering, so that's exactly what I did! I went to an orientation class and signed up to volunteer shortly after. During summer 2020, I was unemployed and depressed amidst the pandemic s helping others picked me up off my feet. Volunteering to hand out food to those in need is one of the ways I can make a difference.
You too can make a difference to help feed the hungry with a suggested donation of $2.62, $26.2, or $262! This year I am running 26.2 miles in the New York City Marathon and raising $3,500 with City Harvest. Every amount helps. This will be my second marathon and I’m motivated to make every step and dollar count towards OUR goal!!! Thank you!
The TCS New York City Marathon represents the best of New York―when all New Yorkers come together to support each other and cheer on their neighbors. For the ninth year, City Harvest has been selected as a charity partner for the 2021 TCS New York City Marathon taking place on Sunday, November 7. This year, City Harvest is building a team of 75 runners that will be captained by City Harvest Food Council member Dan Churchill, Executive Chef of Charley St. The team has a goal of raising $275,000 to help feed New Yorkers who are struggling to put meals on their tables.
