A MESSAGE FROM Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation Marathon Fundraiser
I’m running the 2026 Bank of America Chicago Marathon in support of the Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation (CBTF), and I invite you to join me by making a meaningful donation. For over 35 years, CBTF has grown from a small New York organization offering information and peer support into a national leader providing year-round programs for families facing a pediatric brain or spinal cord tumor—from diagnosis through treatment, survivorship, and bereavement. As founders of the Children’s Brain Tumor Network, CBTF champions collaboration to drive research forward and address the often-devastating long-term effects of treatment. Your support helps ensure that children, survivors, and families across the country receive the community, resources, and hope they need.
As a pediatric neuro nurse of 5 years now, I have had the honor of taking care of many brain and spinal tumor patients. From the time they are diagnosed and throughout their stay at the hospital for treatment, these kids continue to show how resilient they are despite how unrelenting their tumors may become. The only option they see is getting better. Despite surgeries, chemotherapies, and radiation their little (and big!) personalities find their way into the hearts of all of the staff at the hospital and remind us why we do what we do. I am excited to be able to fundraise and run for a charity that encompasses the complexities that often accompany a brain or spinal tumor diagnosis, affecting both the patient and their family.
