Proverbs 12:10 – “The righteous care for the needs of their animals, but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.” • This verse makes it clear that taking care of animals is a sign of righteousness, while cruelty is a mark of wickedness. • Genesis 1:26 – “Then God said, ‘Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.’” • This passage shows that humans have been given dominion over animals, but that dominion comes with responsibility, not permission to harm them. • Deuteronomy 25:4 – “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain.” • This law was given to ensure that even working animals were treated with fairness and allowed to eat while they labored. • Matthew 10:29 – “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.” • This verse reminds us that God cares about even the smallest animals, meaning cruelty toward them is against His will. The Bible consistently upholds the idea that humans should be compassionate stewards of God’s creation. Treating animals with care and respect aligns with biblical values.
