On May 19th, we’ll be hanging up the Giants and Jets jerseys for the day while we run the Philadelphia Eagles Autism Challenge 5k to raise some dough for Autism research and support programs.
We’ll lace ‘em up on the Eagles home field to also rally around our amazing nephew Joseph, who was diagnosed with Autism in 2016. He’s a budding All-Pro engineer - or whatever he wants to be. He’s tackled some big obstacles and we’re incredibly proud of him. And he’s one of my best pals.
100% of funds raised by participants will benefit Autism research and support programs at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Drexel University, Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health - thanks to Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie, who’s underwriting costs for the whole event.
Joey is fortunate to have devoted, inspiring parents, Deirdre & Joe (a lifelong Eagles fan), who are hellbent on helping him overcome his challenges. He’s surrounded by a dedicated family rooting for him every step of the way and supported by local school programs that give him the tools. We’re running to give a boost to programs for kids who are not as lucky as Joseph and to bolster the research that strives to unlock the mysteries of the Austism spectrum.
