A MESSAGE FROM TCS NYC Marathon Fundraising for Daniel's Music Foundation
I'm excited to share that this fall I will be running the NYC Marathon on behalf of Daniel's Music Foundation, an organization that empowers individuals of all abilities through the power of music.
I was introduced to Daniel's Music Foundation through my sister Kelsey and brother-in-law Aidan, who serve on the board of the charity and have become incredibly close with the Trush family over the past two years. Ken, Nancy, and Daniel Trush were neighbors with Kelsey and Aidan while living on the Upper East side and were amazing neighbors and friends to them and especially to their daughter, my niece, Ruby! Last year my niece Ruby was diagnosed with a rare neurological genetic disorder called GATAD2B-associated neurodevelopmental disorder (GAND) that affects speech, movement, and other areas of her life. Over the past year Ruby has made tremendous strides - amazing each one of us every day. She works through countless appointments each week with occupation and physical therapists to achieve things that so many of us take for granted: eating, speaking, standing on her own. And she does so with an infectious smile and contagious laugh the whole time, seemingly unbothered by it all. From her various therapies, we're learning about the power of movement and music to help children with GAND live a full and positive life
I could not be more honored to run the 2024 NYC Marathon to support such an amazing cause and help contribute to a charity filled with such amazing people. If you are so inclined, I would love your support, every bit goes a long a way to allowing the DMF team to continue to serve their mission by providing free resources and putting on amazing events that spread so much joy and love through music for all.
