My name is Chris Pregent-Halford. Please support my fundraising efforts for the 2022 New York City Marathon. I'm raising funds for the Van Andel Purple Community.
I first learned about Purple Community in 2016 when I ran a 5K they hosted. Runners were told they should write the name of someone they knew who was impacted by cancer on the racing bib. I ran, with my youngest daughter in a jogging stroller, for my best friend from childhood who was dying of lung cancer. It meant a lot to me to to have that memory and experience, knowing I was contributing to an effort that could help end such a terrible disease.
The Institute’s grassroots community awareness and fundraising program connects individuals, schools, teams and companies that want to join the fight against cancer and neurodegenerative diseases to the resources needed for action.
Since that first race I’ve supported VAI Purple Community at several events and it always feels great. And after recovering from back surgery last year, and other injuries, I am truly grateful to have the health and opportunity to raise money for such a good cause. Lend a hand - you'll feel great too.
No donation is too small or too big. Every single dollar helps.
100% of all funds raised will go directly toward research and science education through the Van Andel Institute Purple Community.
