Project Athena provides life changing adventures for women and men who have overcome medical obstacles as part of their recovery and growth. I am proud to be an Athena. In 2012, while six months pregnant, I was diagnosed with a meningioma brain tumor. After the birth of my son, I endured a 13 hour brain surgery, followed weeks later by an additional surgery , and six weeks of radiation. I survived this experience and thrived. In 2016, I participated in the Rim 2 Rim Grand Canyon Adventure. Project Athena helped me grow in the direction I have always longed for: to be healthy, fit, strong, and not let any obstacle get in my way. It provided me with the tools to expand my horizons.
Please help support my fundraising effort to provide this opportunity for another woman or man, looking to heal through adventure in 2017 by participating in the Grand Canyon Rim2Rim. No donation is too small, please click on the donate now link below!
