Family, is the sole reason I’m running the 2024 NYC Marathon for Queensborough Community College. Years ago when being a teenage mom interrupted my dreams of running track at a Division 1 University, I found a family at Queensborough Community College. It was the professors, the staff especially those in the advisement office that took me in and guided me towards a dream that was only deferred.
The NYC Marathon was my first marathon and will always be my favorite. This will be my fourth time running it and it’s always like a coming home party. My family, friends, coworkers all come out and cheer and those that can’t, do it virtually. It’s the day that all New Yorkers come together as the big diverse family that we are!
My fund raising efforts is to grant at least one student the opportunity to find their home at one of NY’s finest 2yr institutions and fulfill their dream by becoming a graduate of the Queensborough Community Family.
