Running the Chicago Marathon in Honor of My Daughter
In July 2024, our daughter Lenny was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, a soft tissue cancerous tumor in her cheek area at 8 years old.
The months that followed included chemotherapy, radiation, and more hospital visits than we could have imagined. Through all of it, Lenny continued to show up with a resilience, positivity, and spirit that inspired all of us.
In December 2025, her scans came back clear and she was considered in remission. Since then, she’s had another clear scan and continues to do great! She’s thriving, full of energy, and getting ready to graduate from elementary school next month.
This October, I’ll be running the Chicago Marathon with Cal's Angels inspired by Lenny and all that she’s endured.
Cal’s Angels supports pediatric cancer patients and their families through wishes, financial assistance, and emotional support. Throughout Lenny’s treatment, our family experienced support from so many incredible organizations in similar ways, and the impact of that support is honestly immeasurable.
My fundraising goal is $2,200, but I’d love to rally our community and see what we can do together to support kids and families navigating similar journeys.
Official training begins June 9, and I’m excited for you to follow along.
Thank you for being part of this.
