In 2021, I gave birth to my son. After 15 hours in labor, I was pulled into an emergency c-section because my labor wasn't progressing the way it should have been. Ultimately, it was discovered he wasn't in the right position to come down the birth canal - essentially he was 'stuck'. It was with the help of the doctors and nurses that I delivered my healthy baby, an experience I don't take for granted and something every woman deserves.
In 2022, I will be running the UNITED AIRLINES NYC HALF FUNDRAISING on behalf of Every Mother Counts. Every Mother Counts is an incredible organization working towards making pregnancy and childbirth safe for every mother, everywhere. Here in the US, more woman are dying due to preventable complications than any other high-resource country in the world especially black and indigenous women.
