In Missouri, most people I knew had a workspace in their garage, shed, or basement, along with boxes full of or walls lined with tools.
In Chicago, most people don’t have space in their homes to work on projects or store tools. The Chicago Tool Library (CTL) allows creative, DIY people to borrow tools instead of buying and storing them. Plus, sharing tools is a great way to build community relationships and reduce barriers to entry for people trying something new!
Recently, CTL expanded their camping membership, allowing more Chicagoans to enjoy the great outdoors in the surrounding countryside without needing to buy brand-new gear.
I’m honored to support the Chicago Tool Library by running for them in the 2026 Chicago Marathon!
