A MESSAGE FROM Diana’s Ignite the Spirit Fundraiser
Ahhhhh! It’s been on my to-do list for over 10 years! Then life got busy, God threw curveballs at me, and now I am in a place where my mind is fighting past traumas, my body has proved that no achievement can go undefeated as long as you only compete against yourself, and where I feel at peace. I am proud to announce that I will be running the 2026 Chicago Marathon representing Team Ignite the Spirit. A team committed to support and assist firefighters, paramedics and their families in time of need. These past few years, the Chicago Fire Department has suffered tremendous losses; Herbie Johnson, Michael Pickering, Jermaine Pelt, Andrew Price, Corey Ankum, Edward Stringer, Kevin Ward and Jan Tchoryk (to name a few Line of Duty Deaths). CFD has a special place in my heart with their camaraderie and their special bond, not just as colleagues, but also as family. My heart was set on running my first marathon for a charity, and for many reasons, this team is true to my heart.
