My name is Eduardo Rentas and I am running the 2026 BMW Berlin Marathon as a sponsored runner for the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and I am asking for your support to help advance lifesaving breast cancer research. Running has always been more than just exercise for me. It’s where I find clarity, resilience, and purpose. After completing a half marathon, taking on a full marathon felt like the natural next step—a challenge that demands commitment, endurance, and heart. When I thought about why I wanted to run 26.2 miles, the answer was clear: I wanted every mile to stand for something bigger than myself. As an Emergency Room nurse, I work closely with patients battling cancer. I see firsthand how devastating this disease is—not only to the individual diagnosed, but to the families who walk every step of the journey with them. I witness the fear, exhaustion, hope, and heartbreak that come with cancer. These experiences stay with me long after my shift ends. This cause is also deeply personal. Breast cancer runs on my mother’s side of the family, and I have endured the tragic loss of close family members to this disease. Losing loved ones to breast cancer changes you. It fuels a sense of urgency and a determination to do more—so future families don’t have to experience the same pain. That is why I am proud to run on behalf of the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Foundation, an organization dedicated to funding innovative breast cancer research that improves detection, treatment, and survival. My goal is to raise $3,000 to directly support research efforts that save lives.
