A MESSAGE FROM I run for my cousin, Dom.
I started running in July 2018 with my mom as part of our local Houston running club, Houston Fit. The first two runs we did (2 miles, 3 miles) were terrible - hot and tiring! But week after week, the more we ran, the easier it got.
We've been increasing our mileage, and even doing some local races. I love the 10k distance, and I even placed 2nd in the 5-mile race at the Cypress 10! We thought we were too slow and left before the awards ceremony, so I didn't even know I placed until we got home. I still need to collect my special commemorative glass!
I'm continuing to build my mileage for my first half marathon at Chevron Marathon in January 2019. This year, I'm running for a reason - to celebrate the life of my cousin Dominick Comia di Gregorio. He was born at 23 weeks, and spent 230 days in the NICU before he was welcomed into the loving arms of our family. My fundraising efforts will go to the March of Dimes, which works to help babies just like my cousin Dom.
The March of Dimes is working to help more moms have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies so I hope you can help by supporting my fundraising efforts for the 2019 Houston Marathon Race Weekend. No donation is too small.
