A MESSAGE FROM Emily's Fundraising Page - Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum
Thank you for your contribution to the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum!
I've been a Public Interpretive Programs volunteer here at the Nature Museum since moving to Chicago. It's a cherished place for me to do what I love: hang out with funky animals (and lead up-close encounters with the public, including our littlest visitors!), share more about the amazing wildlife that calls Illinois home, and learn from local artists, educators, and naturalists!
Your support fuels everything we do—from hands-on learning experiences to conservation research—and helps us inspire the next generation of nature champions across Chicago and beyond.
Because of you, we’re able to:
+ Keep our animal residents well cared for and healthy (peep below for just a few examples: Pancake the spiny soft-shell turtle, Patsy the alligator snapping turtle, and some of our butterfly haven residents...including chrysalises that are yet to hatch!)
+ Partner with more than 150 schools each year through impactful, locally relevant science and nature programs
+ Expand conservation and sustainability efforts across the region
Thanks to your generosity, we’re empowering teachers citywide through professional development focused on whole-child learning and STEM education. Our team works directly with educators in every Chicago ward—offering workshops, field trips, and creative virtual programs that ignite curiosity in students and deepen their connection to nature.
