Please help me support our teachers and run the Chicago Marathon. As a kid in Mexico, where teachers get little to no assistance/resources for their students, I saw my dad go above and beyond to teach, support, and prepare his students as best as he could. My dad and some of his colleagues would put their own money and extra time to ensure now kid would stay behind. I saw the impact my dad had on the lives of those kids and the difference he made in the school and community. As we immigrated to the USA, I was fortunate and blessed to have teachers with the same passion and heart as my dad. I had great and wonderful teachers who supported me all through high school, who were patience when I was learning English, when I was learning to assimilate to a new culture, who knew and understood the challenges I was facing and supported me. I had teachers who, like my dad, went above and beyond in their roles, who invested in their students’ well-being and were there to make a real difference in their students’ lives. For this reason, I chose to support Golden Apple foundation, because they support teachers and I know the huge impact teachers can have in people's lives.
