Once the donation minimum is raised for the NYC marathon, please consider donating to my family's scholarship in the link below, which was created in honor of my older sister: https://everloved.com/life-of/virginia-sweetser/
This is being formalized into a 501(c)(3) scholarship that will be directed to help female veterans with the cost of higher educations in the fields of social work, psychology, or psychiatry.

On December 11, 2020, my older sister, Sgt. Ginny Sweetser, veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, died by suicide after a 15+ year long battle with PTSD. She was a licensed clinical social worker in Missouri and Kansas, an avid Jeeper, a fearless skydiver, an advocate, and my hero. Her goal was to help the many others who struggled through their own challenges.
Ginny was my first best friend and she was the best big sister. She was my biggest cheerleader- flying all around the world to watch me play rugby or sending me motivational texts when I took on a new monthly running challenge. Losing my sister has changed me and made me feel pain and sadness that I did not know I was capable of feeling, especially given the circumstances of her death. But being a part of AFSP has helped me to heal. By joining their support group for those that have lost a sibling to suicide, I slowly feel myself starting to breath again and have become an outspoken advocate for mental health.
