A MESSAGE FROM The Lewis Boys Fundraising Page
Thank you for taking the time to look at our fundraising page. My dad and I (Adan) will be running the 2020 Chevron Houston Marathon . We are running for many reasons but we are fundraising for a very important one and that is to help END LUPUS. My brother Andrew along with my uncles will also be running the Half marathon. My mother and father have both ran the half before as well as myself. This year we are hoping to break all odds and raise $10,000.00 !
A little back story on my mom-
My mother was diagnosed with Lupus in 2009. She has been fighting this terrible disease with a smile and does everything in her power to raise awareness and find a cure. She is currently undergoing a special monthly chemotherapy for her lupus and is on daily medications. You would not have a clue she has lupus because she is always doing things for us and others and now we want to do this for her!
A little back story on me-
Hi I am Adan. I am 14 years old. I have SMAS. A rare stomach disorder that has no cure. I am running this marathon to not only raise awareness of my mothers lupus but also for SMAS (superior mesenteric artery syndrome). It is a rare digestive condition that causes a complete or partial blockage of the duodenum. I have pain daily but have learned to manage my symptoms with diet, exercise and sometimes a feeding tube is needed to get it under control. I am thankful for God's grace and the opportunity to be able to run this marathon.
Like JJ Watt says "Dream Big Work Hard" so we are doing that!
