A MESSAGE FROM Zayde's Page (Phil, Arielle, Regan and Emi)
It's time for our 2nd Waterfront 5K Fundraiser for MassME!
On June 15th, Arielle (daughter), Regan & Emerson (granddaughters), and I will be scooting, running, and strolling along the Seaport waterfront to support MassME, an organization supporting me and thousands of others living with ME/CFS.
I'll be riding my electric scooter one granddaughter and Arielle will run pushing the other granddaughter in her stroller.
I've had ME/CFS since I was 23 years old. MassME has been a great support for me and my family and continues to be a lifeline for so many people suffering with ME/CFS, Long Covid and related chronic conditions. I've had the privilege of holding positions of Treasurer, President and Board Chair over the past eight years, during which time we have expanded our patient and family support services, educational offerings and advocacy efforts. This year our 5K fundraising will support a revamped website and membership services software.
Living with ME/CFS has challenged me in ways I would never wish upon anyone. Despite living with the disease, my life is full and rich with blessings, including my two grandchildren, who call me "Zayde", which is Yiddish for "grandpa". I'll be "scooting" the course, while my Arielle, runs beside me with Regan and Emi in their stroller.
Last year, because of your generous support, Arielle and I raised over $5,800 and were honored as the top fundraisers of the entire 3,000 participant event! We are deeply grateful for your support and hope we can do it again.
We've set a goal this year of $6,000. Please support us with whatever amount you can afford.
