A MESSAGE FROM Clare Lindstrom’s Marathon Fundraising
I’m excited to announce I’m running the Chicago Marathon this fall! As I’ve grown out of organized sports, I never thought I would find a lifelong sport that filled me with the same joy. I’m so grateful to have running as the cornerstone of my physical and mental well-being.
Running is something I have always done for myself, however I am proud to share that I am officially training and running for The Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA). Most importantly though, I am running for my childhood friend, Eileen. In January of this year, Eileen tragically passed away in a skiing accident. Eileen prioritized fitness and health through activities like yoga and running. In the fall of 2023, Eileen ran the half marathon in her college town Ann Arbor, Michigan. Eileen did everything with her unique and signature style, always making things FUN. She always found ways to spice life up and conquer challenges, all the while having a blast and making it all look effortless. In true Eileen fashion, I will be training for the marathon alongside many people that I love and plan to do it with laughter and joy. While I will run for Eileen on October 13 2024, I am confident that Eileen be running with me and the countless others running for her, who want to Live Like Eileen.
The mission of Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA) is to make sure everyone in the Chicagoland area has access to the benefits of running. The organization aims to make running free and accessible for every neighborhood around Chicagoland.
Please consider making a donation to support these causes that are near and dear to my heart. After I meet my fundraising goal for CARA, I will be donating the rest to the Eileen Sheahan memorial scholarship.
