On my Living Water trip in April 2019, we were taking a tour of the village where we would be drilling a well.  The community took us to the local river bed where they wash clothes and collect water.  The river was mostly dry besides the holes where they had dug to get to water.  We continued to walk upstream the river bank to another section where the women and children spent hours cleaning clothes and collecting water.  On the way up the hill from the river bank, I was working on my Spanish and talking with some of the moms.  Because my Spanish is pretty bad, the women in front of me turned around to see my face. I can only imagine my face as I tired to continue with my broken Spanish because I was AMAZED by this women. She was nursing her baby boy as we climbed the hill back to the main road. WOW!  It hit me that these women are so STRONG and DETERMINED. She wasn't out of breathe, she had a huge smile on her face and her baby boy was happy! What a strong women and determined women to provide for her family. I am so happy to say she now has a clean water source right off the main asphalt road! Thank you, GOD! 

In the back of my mind, I thought about how much I complain about the slight hills along Allen Parkway as I run half marathon back into downtown Houston.  And I shake my head about how silly that is...I don't have to run, I have water stops every 3 miles (if not more) and I am not nursing a baby.  This year, my goal is to be all smiles into downtown! Also, to raise money for more water wells to be drilled around the World and to end the water crisis in this World. Please support my fundraising efforts for the 2020 Houston Marathon Race Weekend.
