A MESSAGE FROM Richard Keenan
Twenty years ago I ran the NYC Marathon for myself. Now, twenty years later, I am training to run the NYC Marathon again - but this time to support the work of GallopNYC. And I need your help!
GallopNYC provides therapeutic experiences with horses to facilitate personal development for New Yorkers with disabilities, veterans and others who benefit from its life-changing programs.
GallopNYC provides the benefits of therapeutic horsemanship to hundreds of riders each week in the NYC area. To learn about its programs click here: https://gallopnyc.org/
I have set a personal goal to raise $15,000.
No donation is too small. For example, a gift of $65 covers one full lesson for a rider. But if you are able to make an impact gift of $1,000, that would provide a full scholarship to one rider for a year; $500 would provide a scholarship for half a year. A gift of $500 would also support 4 months of farrier (a blacksmith who specializes in shoeing horses) and other horseshoe costs for one horse.
I’ll be thinking of the Gallop riders and you as I run November 3 in the NYC Marathon. I am super excited (and a little nervous.)
Please click on the donate button and join the GallopNYC team!
Thank you very much, Dick Keenan
