A MESSAGE FROM Sam's Fundraising Page
1 Million. That's how many more opportunities boys have to participate in athletics than girls. Annually.
I've made the insane decision to run the New York City Marathon on November 5 to help bridge this gap (literally though, the race has 5 BRIDGES).
Running a marathon was never on my bucket list, and to be honest, I'm still not sure it is! But committing to running 26.2 miles through the best city in the world is an experience I know will be life changing. Training my body and mind, while also raising funds and awareness for the Women's Sports Foundation will only make this experience so much more impactful.

Throughout my life, and my career, sports has always been a strong constant. Sports as a kid represented friends, teammates, life lessons and as an adult it often represented my livelihood and much of my identity. Being a women in the world of sports is something I have always known was special, and oftentimes equal parts exhilarating and frustrating.
Bridging the gap for young girls and women in youth sports, high school teams, and even the media, is a cause I have always been passionate about.
Please consider supporting me in my efforts to help provide all girls and women the opportunities to play all sports!
