It’s that time again! I’ll be running the LA Marathon to raise money for Reading to Kids, a Los Angeles nonprofit that helps promote a passion for reading in K to 5 students through monthly reading clubs at local public schools led by volunteers (like myself!).
I’ve been volunteering with Reading to Kids over the past year, and it’s been one of the most meaningful things I’ve done since moving to LA. Showing up, reading with the kids, and seeing how excited they get about books is the kind of reminder that small, consistent support really matters for the community.
That’s why I’m asking for your help. 100% of donations go directly to the program, including books and materials for the reading clubs, and helping make sure participating students can take home books of their own. For a lot of families, having a few books at home can be a big deal, and building that personal library early can stick with a kid for life. Donating as little as $5 can help make sure up to four kids get sent home with a book.
If you’re able to donate, share, or send a little encouragement on race day, I’d appreciate it!! Thank you for supporting me and for supporting Reading to Kids!
