Driven by my deep gratitude for the military and the freedoms they protect, I am honored to make my marathon journey count by fundraising for the USO. As a new runner, there are few things that would get me to run 26.2 miles, and supporting our military is one of them. As a native New Yorker who has watched the TCS New York City Marathon as a spectator for years, it is a life goal to run it and 2023 is the year!
My brother Luke has always inspired me - from a young age he had a calling to serve our country, and after graduating from the Naval Academy, is currently a Captain Infantry Officer in the Marine Corps stationed in Camp Pendleton, CA. My uncle, a Navy veteran and a continued avid supporter of military and veteran causes, also played a pivotal role in shaping my admiration for the Armed Forces. The USO's mission to strengthen our military service members by connecting them to family, home and country, regardless of their physical location is near and dear to my heart. The USO is supporting our country's service men and women at every step from the moment they join, through their assignment and deployments, and as they transition back to their communities.
