A MESSAGE FROM Chase Dunlap
In life we don't always get to choose our hard. Sometimes it is chosen for us and our loved ones, sometimes we create it ourselves, and other times we seek it out as a way to connect with something inside of us that only we know exists. On November 5, 2023 I will embark on a 26.2 mile New York City marathon to be a part of something that is bigger than me, something that I am not sure I will be successful in, and something that will have an impact on what I believe I am capable of doing both mentally and physically - no matter what the outcome is.
I am excited and grateful to be running on a great team and for a great cause. I will raise money and run for the Gilda's Club of Westchester, New York. Today we are all impacted by Cancer. Whether you have had it yourself, shared the journey with a loved one, or supported a friend who has confronted one of life's great equalizers.
Personally, I have lost a grandmother, friends, and parents of friends to Cancer. I have also witnessed a 7-year-old boy beat Leukemia; a 75-year-old war veteran win the opening battle, and a sailor masterfully chart a course through the fair weather days and storms that follow treatment. Through it all I have learned that Cancer impact mind, body and heart of everyone who faces it or walks the journey with a loved one who is battling.
Gilda's Club of Westchester is focused on providing those fighting and their team. A wholistic approach to providing support for families that ensures they are the strongest they can be as they fight the battle of their life. Please support my efforts to raise money for Gilda's Club by running the NYC Marathon in honor of my family members who have won and lost the battle with cancer.
Thank you for your support and I will keep you posted on my journey,
Chase
