Dear Friends and Family,
I’ve been wanting to run the Chicago Marathon for some time, but I never found the courage to take that leap—until now. This year, I am excited to share that I’ve signed up to run for a cause that is close to my heart: Openlands, an incredible nonprofit dedicated to creating and preserving nature sanctuaries throughout Chicago and its suburbs.
I learned about Openlands a few years ago when I visited the South Shore Sanctuary and the breathtaking Japanese gardens. I was captivated by the beauty and tranquility of these green spaces, which offered a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. In a world filled with noise and pollution, these sanctuaries provide a vital refuge for both our environment and our mental well-being.
While there are wonderful green spaces scattered across our city, many neighborhoods still lack access to trees, parks, and natural landscapes. In a time when anxiety and negativity seem to permeate our lives, the healing power of nature has never been more important. A simple walk or run through vibrant, native landscapes can rejuvenate our spirits and foster a sense of connection to the world around us.
By supporting my marathon campaign for Openlands, you will be directly contributing to efforts that expand green spaces in our community. Your donation will help fund initiatives that not only beautify our neighborhoods but also educate young residents about the importance of nature, urban gardens, and wildlife conservation.
Help me make a difference! Let’s work towards a greener, healthier Chicago where everyone can find solace and joy in nature. I am grateful for any donation you can provide.
Thank you for joining me on this journey to bring more green to our city!
With gratitude,
Adriana
