I’m running the 2026 Bank of America Chicago Marathon to support Lumpen Radio: Chicago’s independent, community-powered radio station that amplifies voices you won’t hear anywhere else. From youth reporters and immigrant storytellers to local artists and community journalism, Lumpen Radio creates space for culture, care, and real conversations across the city.

I’m running because independent media matters. It keeps us informed. It keeps us connected. It keeps our communities heard. Your donation helps train emerging storytellers, expand multilingual coverage, and keep this local platform on the air for everyone who calls Chicago home. Together, we can build a louder, prouder, and more inclusive Chicago.

This will be my second marathon, and I’m going into it with gratitude, honoring grievances, empowered by our communities resistance, and respecting my mind and body.

Training is a long road, and so is the work of building independent media that serves our communities. I’m grateful to be doing both together.
