I am so excited to announce that I have officially secured a charity bib for the 2027 Walt Disney World Marathon.
I ran the marathon in 2024, but this year, it comes with a significant responsibility. To participate, I have committed to raising at least $1,250 for the Magee-Womens Research Institute. This isn't just a suggested goal—it is a mandatory pledge I have made to represent this charity on the course.
My Main Strategy: 26 Donors for 26 Miles
To meet this $1,250 commitment, I’m looking for 26 donors to contribute $50 each.
The Perk: Each $50+ donor will be featured prominently on the front of my race-day shirt, with their name "owning" one of the 26 miles I run. When I’m struggling at Mile 22, I’ll be looking at your names to keep me moving!
Donations of any amount are truly appreciated: Whether it is $5 or $25, every dollar helps me fulfill my commitment. To show my gratitude, I will feature all donors on my race gear—with smaller donations listed in a special section on the back of the shirt.
Why Magee-Womens Research Institute?
Most people know Magee for their incredible maternity care, but their research institute is actually the largest in the U.S. focused exclusively on women's health. I am running to support their groundbreaking work in areas that are often under-researched, including:
Women’s Cancers: Developing vaccines and early-detection tools for ovarian and breast cancers. 🎗️
Heart & Brain Health: Researching how gender affects heart disease, stroke, and cognitive health. 🧠
Reproductive Innovation: Advancing fertility treatments and life-saving research for premature births. 🤰🏻
Wellness & Equity: Studying pelvic floor health, menopause, and closing the gap on health disparities in our communities.
I am looking for donors who:
Have been personally impacted by one of the health areas Magee researches.
Want to honor a friend or loved one who has navigated a women's health journey.
Are passionate about closing the gap in medical research for women's unique biology.
Want to see better outcomes for future generations.
