*Join Me in the Journey to Beat Brain Cancer: Crossing the Canyon for a Cure*
Hi, friends. I’ve been talking about it for a while now, and what seemed like a far off goal many months ago is now right around the corner! On September 23rd, I will be joining a small group of brain cancer warriors to take on the challenge of a rim-to-rim hike in the Grand Canyon in an effort to raise money for a cause that is near and dear to my heart – brain cancer research.
Covering nearly 25 miles from the north rim to the south rim - in ONE day - embodies the spirit of the challenge we face in combating this disease. I will be hiking in memory of my mother who died when she was just 49 years old from glioblastoma (a deadly, aggressive form of brain cancer), and in honor of all those currently battling brain cancer.
I am pleased to be joining forces with @3000 Miles to the Cure to raise awareness as well as crucial funding for brain cancer research, a field in dire need of resources and hope.
I’m asking you now to support me with a donation as I undertake this endeavor that will certainly challenge my personal limits. We will leave before dawn on North Kaibab trail, descending 6000’ over 14 miles to the bottom of the canyon before joining up with the Bright Angel trail (South Rim) to climb up nearly 4500’ in about 8 miles to complete the hike. My goal is to do this in as close to 12 hours as I can.
My fundraising goal is $3000. I would be honored to have your support, and no donation is too small. Every dollar counts.
3000 Miles to a Cure channels all proceeds towards cutting-edge research aimed at finding better treatments and ultimately a cure for brain cancer. In 2023, the Crossing the Canyon team raised an incredible $80,000 which was donated to the Dana-Farber Cancer Center.
Thank you in advance. Your contribution means the world, not only to me, but to every individual and family touched by brain cancer.
