A MESSAGE FROM Dayna's Fundraising Page
I am walking this year for the 10th Annual Walk to End Epilepsy. Eight years ago I was diagnosed with Epilepsy. In March of 2017 I underwent brain surgery but a year later I learned the surgery didn't work. I have been fortunate that epilepsy is largely controlled with medication. I recently had a major set back with several back to back grand mal seizures in one night. This was incredibly frightening. I am walking because this feels more important than ever.
You may know I've been working on pursing my dreams as a jewelry designer. Motivated by my recent seizure episodes, I created a jewelry collection as my final school project inspired by the brainwaves during a grand mal seizure. I plan to launch my new business with a pendant from this collection while donating a portion of proceeds to Epilepsy Center of Mt. Sinai. This is I have received the best medical care and attention I could have ever asked for. Have a look at my hand renderings of this collection here! I am in the process of fabricating the first pendant!
Please let me know if you'd like to hear more about this endeavor and if you, or someone you know, would be interested in purchasing a pendant towards this cause.
The walk will be taking place on Sunday, September 25, 2022, 9am-1pm. Your support in the way of a donation to the Epilepsy Foundation through this site, or even joining me for the walk, would be so appreciated. If you'd like to join me for the walk I would love for you to be there with me! The walk starts here: Pier 25 at Hudson River Park, West Street, NY, NY.
Thank you for your support!
