A MESSAGE FROM Adrienne's Fundraising Page
This November, I will be running the 2024 TCS New York City marathon with team T.E.A.L. (Tell Every Amazing Lady About Ovarian Cancer Louisa M. McGregor Ovarian Cancer Foundation), an organization that focuses on providing support to patients and survivors, raising public awareness, and sharing resources with key partners in the struggle to end ovarian cancer. 

I’m running with team T.E.A.L in honor of my mom, Kris, who passed away in 2012 after a 6-year battle with ovarian cancer. I dedicate my training and marathon run to her, who fought her battle with so much courage and grace. 

My mom was vibrant, silly, and smart. She had an infectious laugh and bright blue eyes (almost teal!!). Among many other things, she loved skiing, traveling, needlepoint, and singing along to broadway musical soundtracks. I am so proud to be running in her honor!! 

If you are able to, please help me reach my fundraising goal for Team T.E.A.L. Any contribution you can make will help bring us one step closer to early detection methods, improved treatments, and ultimately, a cure.     There is a lot of meaning in completing a marathon--an experience relatively few people have. I was so glad for you when your Dad told me you were going to run one--and, especially, in New York. And then, because I knew your Mom and I know what a great person she was--well, you've put together something remarkable here, and I want you to feel as supported as possible in doing it. it's like you are going to put a little candle inside yourself that's going to shine for the rest of your life--a candle you can look at whenever you want to, and have it bring all of what you will soon experience come immediately back to you. This is a truly great thing you're doing.
