A MESSAGE FROM Jordan Bear -- Running with Team CASA
After many half-marathons, I have decided to take the leap (so exciting, so terrifying)! And I am thrilled to be running 26.2 with Team CASA.
I have served as an advocate with CASA in Nashville for several years. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) exists to support volunteers to act as advocates for children in the foster care system who have experienced abuse and neglect. CASA volunteers advocate to help these children receive the help they need to find safe and loving homes. Some of our work includes foster home visits, attending court with foster children, writing court reports to ensure the children's' needs are being met, and building relationships with the families we are working with (kids in the foster system, birth parents, and foster parents). Overall, we advocate for safety, legal rights, and loving homes for the children we support. It's an incredible organization doing incredible work for kids who cannot advocate for themselves.
Please consider partnering with me to help me reach my fundraising goal for CASA. I have experienced what this organization can do firsthand and I am so excited to be teaming up with them for the Chicago Marathon. I would love to chat with you about this opportunity and answer any questions you may have.
