Mental health is something I care about deeply and personally. For a long time I dealt with my own struggles in silence, which is exactly why No Stigmas' mission — tearing down stigma and making people feel less alone — means so much. Ironically, running became one of the things that helped carry me through, even when talking felt too hard. This felt like the right way to give something back. 

This is my third marathon. I've previously run Christchurch (3:24) and the 2023 London Marathon (3:41), where I raised over £5,000 for charity. I'm bringing that same energy to Berlin, and I'll be honest: I also have a personal score to settle. In 2014 I bet my very fit friend Kit $100 that he couldn't beat me in a marathon. He destroyed me and finished 15 minutes ahead. Then, Harry Styles (who I don’t know personally), beat me at the 2023 Grammys AND shattered my fastest time at the Berlin Marathon in 2025 (2:59:13). I have multiple chips on my shoulder and a sub-3-hour goal, and I'm convinced that cracking it will somehow unblock me creatively. No pressure.
