A MESSAGE FROM Maria
Family after 1 mile run in Hawaii on Global Running Day. Picture of Alex and Zach in baby joggers. Alex and spouse Cynthia, and Zach will join Jesse and I in the 2020 Chevron/Aramco Houston Marathon; again making it a family affair.

I started raising money for CanCare in 1996. Why CanCare? The Hope that CanCare provides Cancer patients, their families and caregivers is what continues to inspire me to continue this journey. 

I love running and run because I can.  I started running as a Freshman at Purdue in 1973. Our Dorm counselor mentioned that she ran a mile so she could eat a small soft serve ice cream cone. I loved ice cream, so there began a lifetime of running. Centuries later and over 60,000 miles logged I will continue this journey as long as the legs and body can. We all need something to inspire us and as long as I am able to run, that is enough.

I will dedicate my Marathon to a special person and family members of the Duncan 'Y' Run Club along with others that are tremendous inspiration in how they are handling their cancer journey.
