A MESSAGE FROM Dave Jr's NYC50 Page
Hi everyone, my name is Dave Marsico Jr & I
am a lifelong resident of Old Forge, PA. I am the son of Terri & David ( Chico ) Marsico. I live in the small town of Old Forge with my wife Jessica Marsico & 2 amazing boys, Parker 12, Carter 10. I am an avid runner. Over the last decade, I have run over a dozen half-marathons. The New York City Marathon will be my 1st marathon w/ Allied Services but it will be my 5th full marathon. In the last few years, I have also run 5 or 6 ultra marathons, with 2 endurance challenges that last 24hrs. I have been the Head Coach of both the Junior High & Varsity Old Forge High School cross country teams for over 7 seasons. I do my best to inspire a group of kids from a small town. The program I coach has over 35 runners both boys &
girls from grades 7-12. It's grown from a small program of just 10 runners, and they are like my other family.
I am a 25-year employee of Gerrity's Supermarkets. I've worked my way up through the ranks. I've been Assistant Grocery Manager in our Moosic location for the past 3 years. My family and I love to travel, from ski trips up North & out West to camping trips & cruising the Caribbean. My family & my team are a good inspiration to keep moving forward, try your best, never give up & keep moving in the right direction by trying to stay positive with everything going on in this 🌎.
It will be my honor to be a part of the 50th running of the New York City marathon with the small group of runners from NEPA. I want to thank Ryan's Run 12 & Allied Services, & especially FNCB Bank for giving me a chance to run my 1st New York City marathon all while supporting a great cause
I want to Thank you for supporting my self & WNEP's Ryan's Run! You can show your team spirit! For every $30 donation, you are eligible to receive an official, moisture-wicking Ryan's Run 12 shirt! We invite you to join us in changing the lives of children and adults with disabilities, life-changing injuries, and chronic illness in Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania. Your donation will support the work of Allied Services, a non-profit health system: making miracles in rehab, helping people regain health and independence after an injury, improving the quality of life for people living with Parkinson’s or recovering from a stroke, empowering children to overcome a learning disability and much more.
