A MESSAGE FROM Bryan's Tampa Bay Frogman Fundraising Page!
On January 19th, I'll be participating in the 16th annual Tampa Bay Frogman Swim in support of the Navy SEAL Foundation. I've been participating in the Tampa Bay Frogman since 2010 as either a kayaker or swimmer. The 3.5-mile cold water swim across Tampa Bay is a small challenge compared to what the families of our wounded or fallen naval special operators have endured in their sacrifice for our country. The Tampa Bay Frogman Swim was borne out of the need to help one severely injured Navy SEAL. The event has now evolved to support all wounded and fallen Naval Special Warfare personnel and their families through the work of the Navy SEAL Foundation, consistently rated a top, four star charity by Charity Navigator. The goal of the Tampa Bay Frogman Swim is to build national awareness of the Naval Special Warfare community and support the Foundation whose mission is to provide immediate and ongoing support and assistance to the Naval Special Warfare community and their families.
I started supporting this event with my Dad (27 years retired Navy Commander, UDT 21 and SEAL Team 2) to honor his service and brothers. It then grew into honoring extended family members who also served and retired from East Coast SEAL Teams. At each swim I always got to spend time with one of my best spearfishing friends, Sean Gucken, who was an integral part of the Tampa Bay Frogman Organization Committee. We unexpectedly lost Sean in 2017, so my participation now also includes my honor to Sean and his legacy.
I participate to raise awareness of our Nation's fallen and their Gold Star families. As a nation of freedom, we must never forget the soldiers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice, and the families who have sacrificed so much for our nation. Freedom is not free.
A shout out to my kayaker/navigator, Trey Stickland, who is a huge supporter of the swim. Our fundraising efforts and crossings of the Bay are successful largely from your efforts.
Help us "never leave a man behind."
NO DONATION IS TOO SMALL AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT.
Respectfully,
Bryan Anderson
