A MESSAGE FROM Once, twice, three times a marathon...
I was only going to do it once, and then I was inspired by an adult patient using an exoskeleton. Then I was just going to do it twice, but I was inspired by a child patient using a Trexo. When I thought about whether I really wanted to do this a third time, I considered the monetary commitment, the months of training, and the long, hard, sometimes painful marathon day. But it always comes back to the patients for me. It really is a small sacrifice with temporary struggles that makes a huge difference for the patients who are struggling every day just for their quality of life. And let's be real... the patient could be me or you one day! So here we are!
For those of you new to my journey, I will say time and time again that I am not a runner. It's pretty much my least favorite exercise thing to do, it does not come easy, and I am a back of the packer. That means I need your help to get me through the miles!! Any donation of $35 or more gets you an official team shirt. A donation of $50 gets you a dedicated mile of your choice, and there are 26 to choose from! A $100 donation gets you a bridge, and there are 5 to conquer.
There will also be the starting line, finish line, and other landmarks to choose from if you prefer. I will also carry your name on race day so I can have my supporters close to me when I need some extra motivation.
Your donation will directly benefit the patients who need services, and I will be sure to share how your generosity has changed lives. Want to know more? I am happy to share my journey with this organization!
Thank you for supporting Allied Services in 2023. You can show your team spirit! For every $35 donation, you are eligible to receive an official, moisture-wicking team shirt! We invite you to join us in changing the lives of children and adults with disabilities, life-changing injuries, and chronic illnesses in Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania. Your donation will support the work of Allied Services, a non-profit health system: making miracles in rehab, helping people regain health and independence after an injury, improving the quality of life for people living with Parkinson’s or recovering from a stroke, empowering children to overcome a learning disability and much more.
