Public Counsel is a nonprofit public interest law firm dedicated to advancing civil rights and racial and economic justice, as well as to amplifying the power of our clients through comprehensive legal advocacy. Within days of the outbreak of the Los Angeles wildfires, Public Counsel pivoted and began to engage in rapid response to address the most immediate needs of those impacted, including staffing disaster clinics, providing one-on-one legal assistance, developing and disseminating know-your-rights education materials and webinars on the rights of various affected groups, and advocating for policies to protect impacted individuals, small businesses, nonprofits, and neighborhoods.
